Stick to the Ru Autobiography
I bought this book because I am long time fan of Rupaul's work! I'm even hooked on "Rupaul's Drag Race"....the only reality TV show I watch; it's just TOO entertaining! Too bad this book doesn't live up to all of Ru's former success. I had a much more thorough review written until it got deleted by accident (sadface) so I will just summarize here: Pros: - Beautiful full color photos litter every other page of this book...some very fabulous shots of Ru in all her glamorous glory! - Insights into the workday schedule Ru has for filming her new show. We see just how hard a worker she has to be and how much effort goes into getting all dolled up in drag (we learn just how many wigs she actually owns!). - Ru's ebulient personality shines, especially in the introduction. - The best advice the book gives is to always have positive energy and to let go of drama (if you are already someone who believes in "getting what you give" then you can probably go spend your 20 dollars elsewhere) Cons: - 20 dollars for a thin little paperback book?! (the glossy photos must account for this! Glad I got a good deal for it here on Ebay!) - Can be read in less than an hour. -Very little information of actual substance (Do we really care about the fact that you don't eat fruit in tandem with any other foods as if it were a miracle diet solution? Do we really want to hear all about how you had a colonoscopy in full detail so that you could get a "Rooty Tooty Fresh and Fruity Booty!"?) - This book is advertised as a guide to style and to life, but the information is very brief and very general. Don't expect to be getting a full makeover just from reading this book - Very little of Ru's story is revealed (anything about his history mentioned briefly in this book can be found mentioned in greater detail in his previous book, the autobiography, "Letting it all Hang out") I was rather disapointed overall with this book, being such of fan of this Queen's work. It just didn't satisfy me...though some of the photos were fun to look at (one of the books redeeming qualities). However I bought the book on the pretext that there would be mch mroe to read, as I was curious on hearing what Ru has to say and was letdown when after recieving the book realized it was more of a marketing ploy to ride on the success of "Drag Race" If you want to know more about Ru I recommend getting his autobiography, "Letting it All Hang Out" instead of this one. But if you are a diehard Ru fan, or are in the market for a fashion photobook (with some artsy shots) then this book could be worth the $20 price tag.

"Broadway's Classic Musical" captured on CD
Beauty and the Beast is a classic Disney movie that I'm sure every child 4 and older must know about. I have yet to see the show on Broadway, but by judging from this cast album the show is bound to be exciting, atleast thanks to it's score. All of the songs that you remember from the movie are included with additional songs added to create a full length Broadway show. However the added songs fit in so nicely that you may find yourself thinking they were originally part of the movie as well. Overall the Broadway Cast is good. Belle's voice has an odd quality to it at times, almost as if she's tyring to sound too "cartooney" and I think the Beast tends to overact a bit. If you are curious about this show I'd still recommend that you give the soundtrack a listen...ofcourse you can also try the London cast album, which I have yet to hear.

Still going strong!
The Marvel Vs. Capcom series is still going strong after all of these years. At first I was disappointed that there were less characters than the 2nd game, but after playing with several characters and realizing how unique each one's fighting style is, you can actually spend a lot of time learning each character and getting a feel for them, which lends the game more playability. The graphics are a gorgeous blend of 2-d comic book and 3-d fighting game. Hyper combos look flashier than ever and are so much fun to pull off! However, the game is short. The arcade mode ends quickly and leaves more to be desired. Mission mode is good and online mode is fun (if you're a skilled player) but there needs to be more to this game to justify the over ten year wait! So for that I will dock it a star. 4/5
