Although what other kind of cat is there anyway? My cats had gotten into the habit of using the bathtub faucet drip as their watering hole. I didn't like the idea of them drinking hard water all of the time and hadn't had the time to design and build a custom fountain for them that would suffice. When I saw a stainless steel pioneer fountain at a client's house it got me interested in seeing if there's something that would work. After comparing pros and cons of different designs and materials and brands, I settled on the petsafe pagoda. Good size, porcelain is nice and heavy to keep the fountain from tipping when cats decide to take a swim. Most important thing is both cats took to it and seem more or less satisfied with their new watering hole with much better quality water. They still go to the tub out of habit thinking maybe that one will still work too but I cut them off cold turkey.

works great - just gotta learn how to use it to get the results you want.
I am in the process of using this to convert old Hi8mm and VHS tapes to archive as many are 20+ years old and dgrading rapidly. The unit isn't too hard to figure out - although i made a few coasters in the process - if you aren't paying attention it's very easy to delete the title making it impossible to access all your hard work ever again, lol.
I like that you can start and stop the DVD recording - each time creates a new Title - with the ability to give it a name and select an image. It does take time to do this - now i know why businesses that do this for you charge so much an hour.
If you aren't a super tech geek, just expect to make a few coasters until u get the hang of how to use it. Checking the menus to make sure recording source is correct (front/rear/ s-video, etc) and recording speed (there are 5 or 6 options) and auto chapter marking on/off - for example, i made a DVD and deleted the existing 10 min. marked chapters and created my own (time consuming) only to find that every other DVD player only recognized the 10 min marks and not my custom one (except for this unit) so I learned to uncheck that box in the menu.
