A competently programmed port of the 1979 coin-op classic, Galaxian for the Atari VCS contains 35 aliens per wave while the original features 46. Gameplay and sound effects are reasonably faithful while the multi-colored enemies, though not replicas of their coin-op counterparts, are nicely animated and fly in similar patterns. The home game has nine levels of difficulty and the option to turn continuous firing on or off. And perhaps proving that the universe is indeed finite, an annoying blue border surrounds the playfield.
