The Game Boy Advance's second Superman game is loosely inspired by the 2006 film directed by Bryan Singer. Unlike the traditional action sequences and go-anywhere environments found in the console versions, however, this handheld game is primarily a logic-based puzzle game with brief shooting segments in between brainteasers. Similar to Sudoku, players must position a series of colored crystals or symbols on a 6x6 grid so that each row or column has one of each type. The shooting sequences involve using Superman's powers of flight, heat vision, and more to defeat Parasite, Metallo, Mr. Mxyzptlk, and other villains.
