The deadly criminal organization COBRA takes their evil schemes to the inner city with the Hasbro G.I. Joe Alley Viper action figure. The Viper Commandos are the foot soldiers of COBRA, an army of heavily armed and trained combatants that carry out the evil orders of Cobra Commander, whether by land, sea, or sky. During the length of the original “G.I. Joe: Real American Hero” television and Marvel Comics series these troopers have come in a wide variety of specialized units, with specific equipment tailored to various combat environments. The Alley Viper units are dedicated to city missions, with a combination of ranged and close quarters weapons, durable riot gear for defense, and special equipment for rapid mobility across the rooftops of tall buildings. The 3.75 inch Alley Viper action figure comes packaged in a blister pack featuring box art from the live action motion picture, “G.I. Joe Retaliation,” and comes with a generous range of accessories and interactive features. You can snap on the Alley Viper’s helmet over his head, and lower the hinged visor to protect his vision from the Joes stunning flash bang grenades. You can command the front lines with the protection of his large, red and silver riot shield, complete with COBRA insignia, narrow window, and plastic clips on the back for storing weapons. You can bludgeon the enemies of COBRA with a black plastic night club, or unsheathe the Alley Viper’s two deadly combat knives. When Scarlett, Snake Eyes and the rest of the elite Joe task force threaten to overtake the field of battle, you can retreat to the rooftops with the soldier’s real working grappling hook launcher and 7 foot long zipline. From there, you can draw the Alley Viper’s two toy machine guns and strike at the true blue heroes from a safe distance, searching for targets through his night vision scope. This version of the COBRA soldier is fully poseable, with points of articulation at the ankles, knees, multiple points on the arms, waist, and neck. The highly detailed mold can fuel the imagination of young fans, covered in a series of armored pads, utility pouches, straps, and buckles, sporting a vibrant camouflage pattern and wearing an identity-concealing cloth mask, a truly faceless member of COBRA’s legions of recruits. The telltale insignia of the COBRA organization is emblazoned on several areas of the Viper’s armor. A removable rubber combat vest with backpack can give his uniform an eye catching layered look, and can double as storage for several of the villain’s weapons. When in use, the firing apparatus for the grappling hook attaches securely to a slot on his back, allowing for the pull-cord action feature that sends him coasting from one end to the other. With tons of playable options and an appearance that inspires adventurous fun, young fans of the military action series can happily welcome this COBRA soldier into their collection.
