Franciscan Friar Fr. Leo Clifford was one of the Catholic Church's mostgifted and distinguished speakers. Born and educated in County Kerry,Ireland, he was ordained to the priesthood in Galway City in 1946.He taught Theology in Dublin and was Chaplain to the Catholic ActorsStage Guild. He also worked with Bishop Agnellus Andrew, Director ofReligious Broadcasting for the BBC (British Broadcasting Company).Following graduate studies in Louvain, Belgium, and Rome, Fr. Cliffordserved at the Second Vatican Council. He first came to America in 1954to give a series of retreats to the Franciscan Friars, and remained untilhis death on February 16, 2012, at Holy Name Friary in Ringwood,New Jersey. He was 89.
