In the year 2023, mankind will have to do battle with more than just our fellow humans. When an insectoid species from the stars threatens our safety, humanity responds by creating giant fighting robots that actually work as great fighting suits for highly competent drivers. After her father is lost in battle, young Noriko Takaya vows to become a great space pilot like her father. Unfortunately, Noriko does not have the same skills as her father, and her future as a powerful space fighter is shaky at best. When she is mech to mech with another student, something inside Noriko finally clicks, and her natural piloting skills kick in. Noriko must somehow prove to her partner Kazumi Amano, the other girls at school, and most importantly herself that she has what it takes to avenge her father’s death and become a great Gunbuster pilot. Now you can relive the adventure and excitement of Noriko Takaya’s struggle to become a great space fighter and the relationships formed during battle with Kazumi, Nerae, and Coach with this awesome Chogokin Gunbuster action figure. Released in 2006, the Bandai Super Robot Chogokin Gunbuster action figure melds both high-quality plastic and tough die-cast into menacing and powerful mecha toys. Based on the popular Japanese anime OVA, video game, and manga series Gunbuster from Gainax, this anime action figure is part of a long-running line of toys called the Soul of Chogokin. This officially licensed toy comes with a wide assortment of cool weaponry and add-ons. The Gunbuster mecha is known for its zany array of weaponry in the anime series, and Bandai has included almost all of it here: two metal baseball bats, accessories that can be used to recreate the Double Buster Collider special attack, and a pair of spiked boots. Also included are special chest parts that show off the Gunbuster's inner workings for those times when you want to display the robot in a battle-damaged state. The original anime series is only six episodes long, but it has made an immeasurable impact on the science fiction and animation communities both here and abroad. The characters, title, and storyline are all based on other anime and film references, drawing in even more of a specialized collector value. A sequel was released as Diebuster, or Aim for the Top 2, and featured new characters, stories, and robots.
