Get ready to launch another epic battle in the Transformer universe filled with insurmountable good and evil warriors. A part of the Beast Wars series and toy line for the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation video games, this fight takes place on Old Earth. It was a time when the planet was a harsh environment—cold and filled with stone. The prehistoric setting makes a great playground for the Predacons (descendants of the Decepticons) and Maximals (descendants of the Autobots). The characters appear mutated in transmetal or organic and mechanical forms caused by the quantum surge after the destruction of the Vok Planet Buster. But the star of this impending war is the Hasbro Transformers Beast Wars Transmetals Tarantulas Action Figure that’s like three toys in one. A Predacon from the Beast Wars portion of the Generation One continuity family, Lieutenant Tarantulas of the Predacon Secret Police is also known as the mad scientist who transforms from an oversized spider to a futuristic motorcycle from the effects of the transmetallization. The ninja warrior’s body design features dark shades of purple and blue, with deep metallic orange and neon green shadows that glow in the dark. The action starts in vehicle mode, when Tarantulas becomes a shiny, high-octane motorcycle-spider hybrid with engine tubing. Enjoy the ride as his eight creepy legs all move up and fold into wheels for a fun race around the planet. As he searches for one of his archenemies to fight and a way to unveil another one of his secret evil plots, he spots Cheetor. In just 11 steps, he transforms into the heavy-duty animalized Robot mode. In Robot mode, his spine-chilling appearance remains consistent, with the exception of the purple and neon green that becomes more dominant on his body parts. The organic material of the mechanical beast is prominently featured on his arms and legs and creates a scarier looking character. Tarantulas has sick and twisted plans for the unsuspecting Maximals rival, and finds him an interesting subject to destroy. He talks a little smack to his opponent before unveiling his high-powered spinning saw. With his signature sinister laugh, he then starts the transformation into beast mode. When he locks onto his enemy in beast mode, Tarantulas gets a boost of power unlike any of the other modes. In this form, he becomes an even more treacherous adversary. Starting with the mechanical arachnid’s eerie neon green eyes with the two mandibles to the beast mode legs, the 10 points of articulation make this the most exciting part of the action. Will Cheetor be able to resist Tarantulas’ twisted scheme and save the universe? The battle of the Beast Wars continues as Tarantulas easily defeats this foe with hopes of fighting the ultimate battle against the Maximals’ leader Optimus Primal.
