The "PT-157: A Scale Model Builder's Notebook" covers the scratch built scale model details of the World War II ELCO produced Patrol Torpedo boat PT-157 as it was in the summer of 1943. This notebook is a 210 page, letter size (8.5" x 11") page production, for ease of viewing, with a combination of over 320+ color photos and diagrams and is in a laminated soft cover. The notebook shows the paths to the latest research information, internet sites and using the PC as a tool. It walks you through through the various steps it took to complete this 6-year fine scale model building journey. Included is information provided to the author from both Captain William 'Bud' Liebenow and torpedoman Welford West of the PT-157 on the configuration of the boat in the summer of 1943. It was in the summer of 1943 (August) that the PT-157 rescued Lt. John Kennedy and his crew of the PT-109. There is a brief history of the PT-157 and comments on the model by two of the original crew members. The notebook shows how these veterans contributed and affected the building to make it as it really was. A wonderful collaboration of the past to today's work on this exceptional model.
