Publisher 505 Games moves its life development series away from the familiar subjects of puppies, ponies, and parrots, and instead focuses on the creepy and crawly word of arachnids in Discovery Kids: Spider Quest. But rather than ask gamers to squish common household pests, Spider Quest wants them to track down, tame, and help protect some of the world's most dangerous and fascinating arthropods. There are five different spider species to collect, including massive tarantulas and venomous black widows, two bonus scorpion species to unlock, and six different 3D vivariums in which to keep the captured creatures. Mini-game missions take players to jungle environments to track down each spider and earn upgrades for their enclosures. Discovery Kids: Spider Quest offers educational information about each captured arachnid, and gamers can use a wireless connection to swap spider trading cards with friends.
