Part of Telegames' ongoing series of "ultimate" compilation titles, Ultimate Winter Games features four distinct sporting events: downhill skiing, bobsled racing, snowboarding, and curling. Downhill skiing and snowboarding are both played from a third-person perspective and offer ten 3D courses apiece. The downhill event has players navigating a series of snow-capped mountains in an attempt to beat a certain time. Snowboarding involves performing a combination of 12 aerial stunts after launching from ramps or moguls. Both curling and bobsled events feature different perspectives on the action, with the former positioned directly behind an onscreen character and the latter taking a first-person viewpoint with only the bobsled's nose displayed. All of the competitions can be played on one of three difficulty levels, with two-player support available using the Game Link Cable.
