An entertaining autobiography
David Niven was an actor of great charm and wit and this reflects in his writing. There is a great deal of honesty in his writing in particular in his relationships with other actors. Also chock full of some great anecdotes from the golden age of film.

An excellent illustrated guide to early travel and tourism.
It is an excellent book that focuses on the earliest forms of tourism. Each compact chapter focuses on an area and one or two people who pioneered travel there with the help of certain key maps - hence map tour. The text is not wordy, but still manages to convey the wonder of travel in formative times. It is well illustrated. The RRP is a bit high, but second hand copies in almost new conditions are great value.
