Nick si occupa di oggetti d'antiquariato e da collezione dall'età di 10 anni, ormai da oltre 50 anni. Inizialmente ha unito il suo amore per la scoperta di oggetti d'antiquariato con i suoi lavori quotidiani, ma poi nel 1990 ha iniziato Browse-a-while come impresa individuale. Nel gennaio 2009 Nick si ritirò da quello che era il suo impiego principale e Browse-a-while divenne la sua attività principale. Nel 2012 l'azienda è stata incorporata come società a responsabilità limitata essendo Browse-a-while Ltd e commercia come Browse-a-while Antiques & Collectables. Anche la sua amorevole e molto comprensiva moglie, Sarah, è diventata direttrice dell'azienda e insieme hanno lentamente fatto crescere l'attività.
