It does reduce the noise and hooked up to ventilation easily. I'd say the noise reduction was dramatized in the reviews I read. Definitely more tolerable but not as quiet as the wind. The little cap that goes on the intake was full of plastic webbing (mentioned in a review) from the print process. I used a small screw driver to poke through the holes and break it free. Not sure how much that webbing would have affected airflow but I didn't want to chance it. Overall I'd buy again

I must admit, I initially harbored some skepticism. However, these fan Mufflers have demonstrably exceeded my expectations. They have significantly reduced the noise level of my three mining rigs. Thank you for this exceptional product.
