First issued in 1862, the 1953 Two Dollar note that went through a lot of changes through its production. This United States note was issued as a Coin Note, a Bank Note, and a Silver Certificate. In 1953, this dollar bill, measuring 156 x 66 mm, was made to resemble the current five dollar note. Moreover, the size of the treasury seal was minimized and printed at the right on the obverse side of this United States note. Portraying Thomas Jefferson on the obverse and his home on the reverse, this United States note was made of 75 percent cotton and 25 percent linen.
