The third and final programme in the Massey Farm Implements & Machinery series sees George French and Dennis Burston complete a magnificent task. Over the three DVDs they have organised the filming of 109 implements and machines working with some 44 different Massey Ferguson tractors. Together, the programmes show the range that Massey Ferguson had available for farmers from 1958 to 1988, a time when the light was green for increased agricultural output. Part 3 spans from 1977-88, and gets under way with an MF 41 four-furrow plough coupled to a 4-wheel-drive MF 690 tractor. Among the 30 items that follow are several ploughs and cultivators, drills, balers, combines, trailers, two slurry tankers, a Rotaspreader and an 80 loader. A highlight is the 200 forage harvester and trailer, and the programme finishes with a 29XP combine, its sleek lines looking forward to a new era. As with the first two programmes in the series, the implements and tractors in this DVD are all authentic restorations or machines in a state of good preservation. The majority are shown working just as they would have done when they were first used. The programmes are fully scripted and clearly narrated.
