Synopsis
" Zero Waste Kids features fun and practical projects designed to get kids reducing waste, reusing materials, and recycling to benefit the environment and lead more sustainable lives. Inspired by internationally acclaimed environmental activist Rob Greenfield, Zero Waste Kids teaches through projects and activities how to reduce, reuse, and recycle at home, at school, and in the community. Zero-Waste living is one of the biggest environmental movements of today. Millions of people are inspired to create less trash as part of their desire to live a more environmentally friendly life. The Zero-Waste movement is an excellent opportunity to help children to understand the world they live in and inspire them to start living in a more sustainable way. Of all the environmental problems we face, ""trash"" is one that is easiest to understand because it is very visual, whereas many other problems are more abstract. Zero-waste isn't the solution to the world's problems, but a very good place to start. Zero-Waste projects include: - Conduct a household trash audit to discover who throws away what and why. - Swap disposable shopping bags and lunch boxes for reusable, zero-waste options. - Compost your food scraps and grow your own food. - Make natural-dye playdough, leaf prints, and more. Leading by example, the author is donating all of his proceeds from the book to environmental nonprofit organizations. Zero Waste Kids is every kids go-to guide for making a difference. Activities contributed by April Hepokoski, Zion Lights, Heidi Rose, Alyssa Binns Gunderson, and Michelle Cassar. 100% of the authors earnings are donated to grassroots initiatives.", Internationally acclaimed environmental activist Rob Greenfield has dedicated his life to making a positive impact on the world by throwing away as little as possible. And now, with Zero Waste Kids, he's collected the most exciting projects, activities, and strategies for kids to start making a difference too. Living a zero-waste lifestyle isn't about following a strict set of rules (like how to recycle), but building skills for problem solving, resourcefulness, and critical thinking. By consuming less and reusing more, you'll live a happier, healthier life, that is more in tune with nature and your community. Zero-Waste projects include: Conduct a household trash audit to discover who throws away what and why. Swap disposable shopping bags and lunch boxes for reusable, zero-waste options. Compost your food scraps and grow your own food. Make natural-dye play dough, leaf prints, and more. Book jacket., Inspired by internationally acclaimed environmental activist, humanitarian, and adventurer Robin Greenfield, Zero Waste Kids features fun and easy illustrated projects and activities that will help your family reduce, reuse, and recycle at home, at school, and in your community. While most kids probably aren't going to grow all their own food for a year like Robin has, Zero Waste Kids features fun and practical projects for growing some of your own food, with advice and encouragement for why doing so is important. And, instead of wearing all their trash for a week like Robin did, with Zero Waste Kids, they'll learn how to audit their trash, to really understand how much waste they're personally contributing to the earth's landfills. Zero Waste Kids helps children to understand the world they live in and inspire them to start living in a more sustainable way . Of all the environmental problems we face, "trash" is one that is easiest to understand because it is very visual, whereas many other problems are more abstract. Great seller! Item is what I ordered; good communication; shipped promptly; good value. NOTE TO SELLER: packaging was NOT appropriate for item; it was a flimsy, plastic envelope, with no stiff material to prevent creases. The book came with two deep creases that involved the *entire* item: one is a 1" triangle lower left side (bound edge); the other is a 7" triangle on upper right side (open edge).

This is an outstanding seller to deal with. Fair prices that are more than reasonable in this economy. The product is in better condition than described, a true value for my money. Packaged and shipped well shows seller has concern for the products he sells to arrive in excellent condition. The seller is friendly and communicates timely with his customers. I highly recommend this seller and would do business again anytime. Thank you!
