The progress of that seduction and the play's stunning denouement shocked Swedish audiences who first attended the play in 1889. Despite its controversial debut, this now-classic drama, inspired by the new ideas of naturalism and psychology that swept Europe in the late 19th century, helped to shape modern theater, and remains one of the most potent-and most frequently performed-of modern plays. The full text of Miss Julie is reprinted here as translated by Edwin Bjoerkman, complete with Strindberg's critical preface to the play, considered by many to be one of the most important manifestos in theater history.

Although first published in 1969 this book contains a lot of down to earth information which still applies today. The author has had many year's experience with many different breeds of dogs which makes for an informative read with lots of photos.

This item was ordered 20 May and it had an estimated delivery time of 29 May to 14 June. As at 23 June, the item has still not arrived nor is there any word on its whereabouts. I am quite disappointed because I've been very eagerly awaiting this version of the book, which has not been easy to source.
