Schloss und Dorf Paretz, 20 Kilometer nördlich von Potsdam an der Havel gelegen, wurden von 1797 bis 1804 von David Gilly als Sommerresidenz für den Kronprinzen Friedrich Wilhelm (III.) und seine Gemahlin Luise geplant und mit hohem ästhetischem Anspruch ausgeführt. Als Musterbeispiel der preußischen Landbaukunst um 1800 erfüllte es sowohl den Wunsch nach einem königlichen Landsitz als auch die Anforderungen an ein funktionierendes Bauerndorf. In der abgeschiedenen Idylle der friedlichen Havellandschaft genossen Königin Luise und ihre Familie alljährlich, abseits höfischer Etikette und fern vom Prunk der preußischen Residenzstadt Berlin, die Sommermonate. Ein Rundgang durch die königlichen Wohnräume mit ihren kostbaren Möbeln, Gemälden, Graphiken und den berühmten Paretzer Papiertapeten gibt faszinierende Einblicke in die damaligen Lebenswelten der königlichen Familie. In der Schlossremise wird eine kleine, aber kulturhistorisch bedeutende Sammlung kostbarer Kutschen, Prunkschlitten und Sänften des preußischen Herrscherhauses aus dem 17. und 18. Price was good, but shipping cost ($30 for two books) seems like a lot for how long it took to get delivered (23 days from Illinois to Spain). Also, seller communication was not great. First two times I wrote, their response did not address question. Third response explained at length about the private courier service they use and how it should take 1-10 business days to deliver. Maybe they should consider a different courier service.

Shipping time was a little slow, takes about 10 days to ship out and it takes a while to get through the system. But the packing was great and I'm still overall happy with my purchase.
