Reviews
Dallmayr has done an excellent job of bringing together Western and non-Western scholars who have dared to cross borders and discuss the major questions of political philosophy from a comparative perspective... Dallmayr should be applauded for mapping new terrain and embarking on a most valuable exercise at the start of a new millenium.

Synopsis
Comparative political theory is at best an embryonic and marginalized endeavor. As practiced in most Western universities, the study of political theory generally involves a rehearsal of the canon of Western political thought from Plato to Marx. Only rarely are practitioners of political thought willing (and professionally encouraged) to transgress the canon and thereby the cultural boundaries of North America and Europe in the direction of genuine comparative investigation. Border Crossings presents an effort to remedy this situation, fully launching a new era in political theory. Thirteen scholars from around the world examine the various political traditions of West, South, and East Asia and engage in a reflective cross-cultural discussion that belies the assumptions of an Asian 'essence' and of an unbridgeable gulf between West and non-West. The denial of essential differences does not, however, amount to an endorsement of essential sameness. As viewed and as practiced by contributors to this ground-breaking volume, comparative political theorizing must steer a course between uniformity and radical separation-this is the path of 'border crossings.', Comparative political theory is at best an embryonic and marginalized endeavor. - 5***r (181)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoOne of the best shopping experiences that I've had on ebay: thoughtful speedy communication, ultra fast shipping with careful packaging, and great price. Item came as described. Regarding the price of the CD- as I write this another seller is asking over $200 for it. Zuber's price was $35.00. How's that? I know these people have some negative reviews, but I can tell that they strive for improvement and better customer service. Highly recommended seller. Thanks Zuber!
- s***m (290)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoA new copy of a rare out-of-print CD was packed in a box mailer and was quickly shipped. I can't remember the last time any merchant packed a CD in a box--usually they throw it in an envelope and the CD or case arrive damaged--so this seller rates the BEST score possible! The seller sent a message telling me that the CD was shipped and gave instructions in case there were any problems (there were none). Great experience...Gret Seller!!!
- l***1 (1374)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoGreat seller; seller shipped the book SUPER FAST, FREE and with tracking number/information. The carrier used by seller was great, made the delivery in the wee hours of the morning and notified me immediately. Also, the book came in water proof bag, which is greatly appreciated since it was damp outside given the early delivery. I am so pleased with seller's description of this book, very accurate. Great communication too; rate seller 10++++++EL PRINCIPE Y LA BELLA CUBANA. LOS AMORES DE DON ALFONSO By Roberto G. Fernandez (#186393647586)
