It seems that archeologists just can't stay out of trouble. In U.S. Games'Entombed, your team of archeologists has fallen into the "catacombs of the zombies" -- an endless maze inhabited by bloodthirsty, undead monsters out to punish you for disturbing their slumber.
The object of the game is to maneuver your archeologist through the vertically scrolling maze while avoiding zombies. The maze is always moving up, and if you touch a zombie or hit the top of the screen, you lose a life.
As you travel deeper and deeper into the catacombs, the speed of the maze increases, making it harder to move around.
To your advantage, you have the ability to "make-break," that is, either break through walls at dead ends, or make blocks behind you to keep away pursuers. You start the game with three archeologists and one "make-break." Additional "make-breaks" can be found within the maze as well.
Choose from a one-player or two-player simultaneous game. In the two-player game, players may either cooperate or compete with one another.
The game ends when all archeologists are dead. Your score is determined by the depth you attain inside the maze.
