Feel relaxed listening to uninterrupted music from local radio stations using a small-sized, lightweight, and full-featured radio transceiver from Kenwood. The Kenwood TS-140S has handy bodywork where front-panel controls are laid out strategically. In addition, a digital frequency display and lightweight design makes the device easy to operate and move with ease. TS-140S can withstand background static, giving users a clear and continuous audio experience using a powerful radio antenna. The transmitter has two VFOs that allow band split operation, called SSB and CW splits, which offers diversity to its audio capabilities. The split frequency is useful for 10-meter FM repeater operations. This device has a modern touch as it also features adjustable scanning speed and an exceptional 500 kHz to 30 MHz broad coverage receiver. The receiver has superior dynamic range without filter reception restrictions while delivering excellent-quality voice transmissions.The TS-140S has a brightly lit, blue-colored digital frequency display panel, which offers a lot of information on one screen. In addition, information such as VFO, memory position, and RIT are shown in assortments of colors such as red, blue, and yellow. Similarly, Kenwood also supports 10 Hz read-outs in the front panel, which is useful for TS-140S operators as they don't need to open the rig to make internal modifications. There are two main knobs for tuning, which include variable frequency oscillator tuning control and a memory channel knob. Operating the two knobs of the TS-140S to transmit is simple to learn. Operators will also notice both band and memory scans. Scan speed can be adjusted from the front panel, or memories can be scanned manually using the up and down buttons. The product comes with 31 memories that complement two VFOs. Users can program modes in all 31 memories. Modification is required to access MARS frequencies because the CPU is designed to only operate on Ham radio bands. The Kenwood transceiver's internal structure is a departure from most HF Kenwood equipment because neat circuits and clean interconnections are easier to handle, even by an amateur. Most interconnections are supported by a ribbon cable, which does not clutter the interior. For users who need an amplifier, all they need to do is open the rig to switch on the power supply.
