Informazioni su questo prodotto

Product Information

Re-Volt, the hit game for the PC, PlayStation and Nintendo 64, comes to the world of 128-bit gaming on the Sega Dreamcast. Complete with 3D graphics and realistic physics, this game offers an array of battery- and gas-powered cars to race in one of seven different environments.

Once you've entered your name, you can choose from cars in the Electric (battery-powered) or Glow (gas-powered) classes. Beginners can only choose from the rookie level cars; the amateur, advanced, semi-pro and pro cars are unlocked as you win cups and complete tasks. Each car's top speed, acceleration, weight and transmission type varies, so choose carefully and keep those parameters in mind as you race.

Before you jump into Championship mode, you can get your feet wet in the Time Trial, Practice and Stunt Arena modes. In the first one, you choose the car and track and try to beat the challenge time as you race solo. If you succeed you'll unlock some secret tracks.

In Practice mode, you just race solo to get the feel of different tracks and cars. You can grab stars in the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Cup courses to unlock new cars.

In Stunt Arena, you can use your newly acquired skills to zip around a special arena and try to grab the 20 stars hidden there. After you find them all you will unlock something very special.

Once you're ready to go you can enter Championship mode and start racing for the Bronze Cup. You must finish in the top three to progress to the next race and must be the overall winner of the tournament to move on to the Silver Cup series. From there you go for the Gold and Platinum Cup challenges; every new cup you win unlocks more tracks and more cars to race on them.

As you move through each Cup tournament you'll race in different areas. You compete in a toy store, museum, supermarket and botanical gardens. After that you'll venture outdoors into a suburban neighborhood and a ghost town before racing on the moonlit rooftops of city skyscrapers.

Each race can have from one to eight laps and two to twelve cars. If pick-ups are selected, you can grab items during each race that will help you win. They appear as spinning lightning bolts, and once you pick one up you'll have anything from bottle rockets to electrical shocks to ball bearings to use against other cars and slow them down. If you're lucky you may find some secret stars that activate the global pulse power-up; it briefly robs the other cars of their power. Collect enough secret stars and you'll unlock more special goodies.

If you want to race against up to three friends, you can simply go for a single race or compete in Battle Tag. Battle Tag is a game wherein each driver has to drive around the stunt arena and find the hidden star. When they find it, they become "it" and their two-minute clock begins to tick down; the goal of the other drivers is to tag that car and then become "it." The winner is the driver who can get their clock all the way to zero first.

Once you've mastered all the tracks, you can use the Track Editor to create your own courses with over 25 pieces to choose from. Use your Dreamcast controller to manipulate the modules and set them up the way you like. When you're done you can use them for a single race, time trial or just a practice.

A Visual Memory Unit is required to save your new tracks as well as any progress made in the Cup tournaments.
