The Nikon D40 is a black coloured body only digital SLR camera that has a continuous shooting speed of 2.5 fps. It has a 6.1 MP sensor resolution with a CCD sensor type that has a 15.6 mm by 23.7 mm sensor size. The Nikon camera body has a 63.5-mm (2.5-inch) LCD screen display with TFT active matrix. The photographer can choose between a variety of shooting prog that include children, close-up, landscape, night portrait, portrait mode, and sports mode. The Nikon D40 6.1 MP SLR camera uses a pop-up flash that has several flash modes that include auto mode, fill-in mode, flash off mode, rear curtain sync, slow synchro, and red eye reduction. Memory flash cards that are supported include MultiMediaCard, SD memory card, and SDHC memory card. The Nikon camera body has several connectivity options that include USB, composite video, and SD memory card. It is powered by a Li-ion rechargeable battery. The Nikon camera body weighs 475 g and is 6.35 cm deep by 9.39 cm tall by 12.7 cm wide.
