The first Wii entry in the popular hack-and-slash action franchise from Koei, Samurai Warriors: Katana lets gamers wield their Wii Remote like a samurai sword and slice their way through feudal Japan. Boasting almost 30 hours of gameplay, Katana's Musou Mode sees players protecting ships from bloodthirsty pirates, rescuing maidens from peril, and exploring mysterious caverns, all the while guided by legendary samurai. Each battlefield is teeming with ninja assassins, but players can dispatch them with close quarters weapons like samurai swords, spears, and war hammers, or break out ranged weaponry like arrows, guns, and cannons. A trial mode lets beginners complete a number of challenges to earn gold for purchasing weapons, and in Vs. Mode two players can go head-to-head in eight separate mini-games.
