Synopsis
The vision of researchers to create smart environments through the deployment of thousands of sensors, each with a short range wireless communications channel and capable of detecting ambient conditions such as temperature, movement, sound, light, or the presence of certain objects is becoming a reality. With the emergence of high-speed networks and with their increased computational capabilities, Distributed Sensor Networks (DSN) have a wide range of real-time applications in aerospace, automation, defense, medical imaging, robotics, and weather prediction. Over the past several years, scientists, engineers, and researchers in a multitude of disciplines have been clamoring for more detailed information without much success. Until now, in fact, this evolving technology was so new and proprietary that information has been available only in scattered articles or basic books. Distributed Sensor Networks is a complete, self-contained book that introduces background theory and applications of this revolutionary new technology. It contains essential background on wireless networks, signal processing, and self-organizing systems. This volume encompasses a number of recurring themes like multidimensional data structures, reasoning with uncertainty, system dependability, and the use of metaheuristics. With over 500 illustrations and over 1,000 pages of in depth information, Distributed Sensor Networks is both an excellent introduction to the field and a complete reference source. With contributions from leading experts, virtually every major topic on 'Smart Dust' is examined. This volume promises to become the definitive guide to understanding this far-reaching technology for years to come, opening frontiers in research and applications., Distributed Sensor Networks introduces readers to a remarkable new way to collect and process data. Distributed sensor networks are fascinating because they comprise systems like "Smart Dust" which gather large amounts of data from multiple locations using millimeter scale sensing/communication devices. These devices can monitor an environment for data such as temperature, pressure, humidity, light, sound, acceleration and magnetic fields, then process and communicate the data. The technology is so new that information has been available only in scattered articles. This book collects that information, from its theoretical background to cutting-edge applications, into a single, authoritative source.

- s***0 (81)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoGreat price. Fast shipping. Packaging for shipment could use some improvement (boxes were crammed and crushed into shipping envelope), but the bottles inside were intact and unharmed. I would transact with this seller again. Top rated!
- r***i (79)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoThe item arrived quickly but the movie itself had a massive scratch on it. The kind that freeze the disc and wont let the movie play. I wrote the seller and he was quick to respond and had an absolute positive attitude. He said it was an oversight and apologized. I appreciated his quick response and his willingness to solve the issue for me as quick and convenient as possible.. Great customer service. Thank you.
- e***a (2937)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoSeller turned unresponsive. Delivered a steelbook smashed. While the item was sent in a flimsy plastic, the interesting part is the dents that were on the cover and back did not align with any marks on the outside. When I asked about the return, the seller stated that the condition of the disc was the concern over the packaging. As of this writing the seller has still not provided a return approval. Worst experience on Ebay in 20 years as a reputable seller myself. Avoid at all cost.
