The 1833 50C Capped Bust half dollar was a coin produced from 1807 through 1839. The coin features a portrait picture of Liberty surrounded by stars, along with the minting year on the bottom on the obverse side. On the reverse side, there is an image of an eagle with its wings spread and a shield on its chest. Along the top are the words United States of America,' with a smaller banner underneath containing the words 'E Pluribus Unum.' The bottom of the coin has a '50 C.' marking denoting the coin's value. Designed by John Reich, the capped bust half dollar is 89 percent silver and 11 percent copper.
