Reviews
"Linda Simon writes beautifully of Alice's early years in California, of her Polish-Jewish family, of her growing alienation from her surroundings and gravitation toward artists, of her awareness of the isolating burden homosexuality would force on her. . . . entertaining, thoroughly researched. and well-written. . . . with a clear gaze fixed on undistorted truth."- Saturday Review, "It''s fitting that Alice B. Toklas, ''wife'' and literary impresario of Gertrude Stein, should be the subject of a biography . . . and this is a good one, sensitive and lively. . . . it's clear from this portrait that through her possessive affection she not only had a dominant influence on Stein''s life but (for good or ill) on her highly idiosyncratic prose. With her acid tongue, shrewd judgment, vitality, and intense loyalty she was a fairly remarkable person in her-self."- Publishers Weekly, "A study that shows Toklas as she must have been, not 'Miss Stein's obedient shadow,'. . . but a multifaceted and complex creature with her own tastes and standards. . . . [her story] is an emotionally stirring experience."- Washington Post Book World, "It's fitting that Alice B. Accurate item description and pics. Great packing job with great care and emphasis on ensuring the item arrived undamaged using minimum packing materials and with conscientious use of recycled materials. Super-fast shipment at reasonable rate and arriving ahead of schedule. Great communication before and after transaction. Highly recommended A+ / 5 Star seller! Definitely one of my new favorite sellers and will purchase from again. Can't say enough praise for this seller. Highly Recommended!!!!!

This sellers "two day" shipping policy is baloney - it took a over five days and repeated emails before this item shipped. I almost thought I would have to request a refund from eBay. That being said, when it did ship, it was nicely packaged and arrived undamaged. I would not buy from this person again because they don't honor their own policies! I can only leave positive feedback because 1) the item DID arrive, and 2) it was as described. The rest wasn't a great experience.

Great transaction and seller! I ordered a small lot of comic books and they were shipped out right away plus, the seller went above and beyond to pack them up extra well to help ensure they arrive undamaged. I believe the seller's prices are good plus, the ad description and images were true to the actual items. Thank you!!
