This is the first season where EA Sports introduced True Performance skating, which is based on real-world physics and features more than 1,000 gameplay animations. Electronic Arts also added its EA Sports Hockey IQ artificial intelligence system, which makes each computer-controlled player aware of every other player on the ice.
