The high-performance Ferrari F355 rumbles onto the PlayStation 2 with four gameplay modes, 11 racecourses, and the official license of Ferrari to back it up. In addition to Arcade, Championship, and Versus (two-player split-screen) modes, a new Great Driver Challenge offers timed races focusing on sportsmanship and driving techniques. Vehicle customization options include adjustable ride height, spring rates, stabilizer, camber, toe alignment, LSD lock rate, and wing settings to affect down force and drag.
Circuits featured in Ferrari F355 Challenge are modeled after real-life venues, including Motegi, Suzuka Short, Monza, Sugo, Suzuka, Long Beach, Atlanta, Nürburgring, Laguna Seca, Sepang, and Fiorano. While in the driver's seat, you can keep track of position, number of cars, time remaining, radar screen, mirror, current lap, total laps, total elapsed time, lap times, driver assist functions, tachometer, gear, speedometer (analog or digital), and circuit map.
Three difficulty settings allow novices, intermediate drivers, and pros to race at comfortable skill levels, while driver assist functions offer stability control, traction, antilock brakes, and an automatic braking system. Training, driving, and race sub-modes offer methods of improving driving skills through the use of ghost cars, practice, verbal commands, and course markings.
