Celebrate the history of Universal Monsters with a Universal Studios Monsters Metaluna Mutant Action Figure. The official Metaluna Monster 7-inch figure is a highly detailed alien. It is based on the creatures in the 1955 science fiction film "This Island Earth." "This Island Earth" is a movie directed by Joseph Newman and Jack Arnold. The movie, based on mystery science, was first shot in black and white. It was later edited and reproduced on color film with quality images and a reduced show time. At the time, the movie was recognized as one of the most watched films. The film features a pilot who designs a communication gadget using instructions sent to him by an anonymous person. After he finishes creating the device, a man appears on the device’s screen and congratulates the pilot for the commendable job. The man named Exeter subsequently recruits the pilot into his team of flight experts. Once recruited, the scientists are denied freedom to move out of the research base. Exeter and some of his flight scientists are from the world of Metaluna. They have come searching for uranium. They are also in need of more scientists to help them make weapons. The pilot, his recruiter, and a third scientist named Ruth flee from Metaluna. During the escape, a mutant who stealthily boards their aircraft injures their leader. The mutant later dies due to pressure changes while traveling and the three manage to escape. Ruth and the pilot land safely, but Exeter flies on and lands in an ocean. Metaluna, meanwhile, is destroyed by the enemy. The leader of the aliens, now seeking a new home, announces that his people will take refuge on Earth. It was from this movie, "This Island Earth," that the idea of creating these figures was born. The Metaluna Mutant Monsters feature claw hands, pulsating red veins, bug eyes, and light blue skin with scales. It also has a large head that resembles a brain. The exclusive action figure is smaller in scale but looks exactly like those featured in the edited colored film. The authentic Universal Monsters come fully assembled, making them great for display. Your kids will undoubtedly love playing with a toy based on a movie and created from the mystical worlds of science fiction. The diamond select toy may also come with an interocitor, a gadget that responds to commands. Sculpted by Jean St. Jean, the exclusive toy can also be the change you want on your random sculpture display shelf. An additional bonus is that it doesn't even need a stand since it can stand on its own. The sculpture is carefully modeled to resemble the real movie character. You may order the sculpture with or without the interocitor gadget. However, you should consider buying the toys with the interocitor for a better look. "This Island Earth" film is one that you would love not to forget.
