The Kenwood TM-V7A Radio Transceiver is an amateur, two-way, VHF/UHF radio with visual scan, DTMF hand mic, and 280 memory channels in a mobile unit. The Kenwood TM-V7A Radio Transceiver has a blue LCD screen with white letters, which can be reversed to display blue letters on a white background. This radio features auto repeater offset, a guide function, screen display dimmer, and auto simplex checker. In addition, the Kenwood TM-V7A Radio Transceiver has DTSS selective call, PL Decode/Encode, Packet 1200/9600 DIN, and Hi/Med/Lo RF output. Antenna impedance for the Kenwood TM-V7A dual band Radio Transceiver is 50 ohms with a current drive receive of 144/440 megahertz less than 1 A. Current drain transmit is 144 megahertz less than 11 A and 440 megahertz less than 10 A. The Kenwood TM-V7A Radio Transceiver frequency range at 440 megahertz: TX is 430 to 450 megahertz and RX: 410 to 470 megahertz. At 144 megahertz, it is TX 144 to 148 megahertz and RX 118 to 174 megahertz. Frequency tolerance for the Kenwood TM-V7A Radio Transceiver is +/- 3 ppm, and the microphone impedance is 600 ohms. The front panel houses the power switch, which must be held for 1 second to turn the unit on or off. The PM switch operates the programmable memory. The Kenwood TM-V7A radio front case also has an MNU button to access the display menu, right-side volume and band select, right-side squelch, control select, left-side volume and band select, left-side squelch, and a power-level switch to change to Lo, Medium, or Hi power. Intermediate frequency first IF is 144 megahertz: 38.85 megahertz, 440 megahertz: 45.05 megahertz. Intermediate frequency second IF is 144 megahertz: 450 kilohertz and 440 megahertz: 455 kilohertz. Selectivity for the Kenwood TM-V7A dual band Radio Transceiver at -6 decibels is more than 12 kilohertz, while selectivity at -60 decibels is less than 28 kilohertz. Sensitivity at 12 decibels SINAD is 144 megahertz: less than 0.16 +/- V, and 440 megahertz: less than 0.16 +/- V. Squelch sensitivity on the Kenwood TM-V7A Radio Transceiver is 144 megahertz: less than 0.1 uV, and 440 megahertz: less than 0.1uV. The Kenwood TM-V7A Radio Transceiver transmitter maximum frequency deviation is less than +/- 5 kilohertz. The Kenwood TM-V7A Radio Transceiver uses reactance modulation with modulation distortion of less than 3 percent (300 hertz to 3 kilohertz). Radio frequency output power for the Kenwood TM-V7A Radio Transceiver on Hi is 144 megahertz: 50 watts and 440 megahertz: 35 watts. Output power on Mid is 10 watts, and on the Lo setting, it is 5 watts. Spurious radiation on the Kenwood TM-V7A Radio Transceiver is less than -60 dB.
