TMNT ongoing series is super awesome
A really beautiful thing about this series is how everything has been reinvented from scratch using characters already appeared in the past and immersing them in new situations. Old and new things are mixed up together in a very impeccable way. In my opinion this series is super awesome! I say this being a great fan of the old Turtles comic books, TV shows and all the movies.

TMNT The Artisan Edition - 1984 Mirage TMNT v1 #1 scanned directly from the original art
I wanted to read the first issue of TMNT published in 1984 by Mirage Studios in a version that reproduced the original art as closely as possible, so I have bought this book.
It's all scanned directly from the original art of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
Part One: layouts scanned from original art
Part Two: inks, photocopies scanned original art from Kevin Eastman's personal archive
Part Three: final published version of TMNT #1, with duo shade tones added. Scanned from original art and printed here at actual size
Part Four: sampling of some very early sketches, designs and promotional material by Eastman and Laid

TMNT Artobiography
I bought this book as soon as I could! Written in first person by Mr. Eastman, it immediately caught my attention and I read it with a lot of interest.
After an introductory chapter on Mr. Eastman, on how he ended up meeting Mr. Laird and how their successful partnership began, Mr. Eastman reviews issues #1-8, #10, #11, #14, #50, all 4 special issues "Raphael", "Michaelangelo", "Donatello" and "Leonardo", the miniseries "Body Count", some short stories and the illustrated adaptation of the first movie.
The book contains many illustrations -both in black and white and in full color- including thumbnail sketches, inked panels, toned panels, covers, various concepts, illustrations created in collaboration with other artists, and each chapter, in addition to the illustrations, contains an interesting commentary that explains how each issue was made, starting with the very first Ninja Turtle concept to telling the whole story of what brought issue #1 to the shelf in comic stores. There are also 4 "Galleries" and 2 "Sketchbook Galleries", also with commentary.
Highly recommended to fans and even to those who draw themselfves.
