If you only use the DMP-A6 as a streamer with an external DAC like I do, I think that the differences are smaller. But even in my case, I immediately heard a difference. The bass is a little bit more present, very busy songs are a little less messy, and it feels a little bigger. More open and natural. However, I do think that you need to have equipment that is capable of showing you these differences. My setup is $16K
