Like it's namesake, the emporium is a celebration of yesteryear, sports cards, and the little league spirit. I grew up collecting cards in the early 80's when an '84 Donruss Mattingly was the elusive Holy Grail. These cardboard treasures were currency and we traded them day and night. My cards had been packed away for years when my son started playing t-ball and then little league. It wasn't the Southern California's North Valley League Kelly Leak dominated, but a northeast equivalent. He began collecting and soon my old collection came out of storage and we were off...back into the hobby together. Now my son is in his 7th season playing competitive travel baseball. He's not a power hitter like Leak, but a pitcher and solid-hitting and sure-handed 2nd baseman. But if you ask him who is favorite player is, he has never waivered and he will always tell you, Kelly Leak. He was 'that good' on the sandlot and we strive for that same excellence.
