Possibly an innocent mistake/oversight. I'm even willing to believe they were handled gently by seller and could have even looked fine going into mail, but shipping process proved too much for what was evidently an old, overly dried out pair of boots. Initiated refund process. Quick and painless. Seller was very polite about the whole thing and worked with me. Can't complain.
