The package it comes in had packing tape on it that was removed and had some tape residue on the outside of the package. in the process of wrapping up to ship it out, it picked up carpet fiber and anything else off the carpet were it touched. This did not affect the product what so ever. I'm sorry it was for a wedding, but could have taken out of original plastic rapper and gifted without it. Either way they got a good cheap deal on new LifeStraws.
