Ho iniziato a leggere fumetti nei primi anni '60.
Ricordo, un'estate, di aver trovato e letto una copia di Amazing Spider-Man #4 da una pila che avevano i miei cugini!
Presto sono diventato un consumatore vorace, leggendo qualsiasi fumetto ovunque lo trovassi!
Un posto era un barbiere che visitavamo regolarmente!
Anche se non mi piaceva davvero tagliarmi i capelli, mi piaceva andarci perché era un posto dove leggevo anche fumetti mentre papà aveva il suo assetto.
Ricordo in particolare una selezione di capolavori fantasy che avevano lì!
Quelle letture sono state la mia prima esposizione a Capitan America, alla torcia umana e alle loro origini dell'età dell'oro.
In poco tempo sarei diventato un appassionato collezionista.
Amazing Spider-Man #44 è stato uno dei primi fumetti che abbia mai comprato in edicola!
Nel corso degli anni, compravo nuovi fumetti e trovavo vecchi numeri posteriori nei mercatini delle pulci, nelle vendite in cantiere o nei negozi di fumetti, mettendo insieme una collezione quasi completa di tutti i titoli di supereroi Marvel pubblicati durante la Silver Age!
Nel 1974 ho venduto la collezione per acquistare una Shelby GT500 del '69! Zoom!
