The Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 965 processor that features a 3.2 GHz clock speed that increases to 3.46 GHz when combined with Intel Turbo Boost technology. The Intel processor is a high-performing processor supplying four cores to an attached system. This multi-core technology enables the Intel processor to perform up to four tasks concurrently. This also results in an ability to perform consecutive tasks at a higher rate than that off a single or dual-core processor. This processing ability increases due to the eight-thread technology integrated into the quad-core processor. The Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 965 includes Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology and Execute Disable Bit. Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology enables high performance for the unit while conserving power output. The bus-to-core ratio for the quad-core processor is 24 with Intel QPI Speed of 6.4 GTps. The 64-bit instruction set allows the unit to perform 32-bit and 64-bit computing.
