Product Information
After Art of Fighting, players were left wondering about the identity of the game's boss, Mr. Karate. Art of Fighting 2 reveals him as Takuma Sakazaki, Ryo and Yuri's father. Because Takuma refused to obey, Mr. Big's crime syndicate kidnapped Yuri and set a trap for Takuma involving Art of Fighting's main protagonists Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia.

Art of Fighting 2 is a 2D fighter played from a side-view perspective. And fighters in Art of Fighting 2 have a health bar as well as the chi bar, which depletes each time the fighter uses a special attack, to be replenished with a charging technique. The chi bar's length affects the power of the techniques, and which techniques a fighter can throw. For example: a full-bar fireball traverses the entire screen, while a depleted-bar fireball barely makes it to the fighter's outstretched hand. Therefore, fighters must have a nearly full chi bar to pull off a "special technique of terror" attack, which will drain the bar immensely.

Art of Fighting 2 also expands on the idea of desperation moves, techniques that can only be performed with a nearly full chi bar and a nearly depleted health bar. While only Ryo and Robert had access to these moves in the original, Art of Fighting 2 gives every fighter one desperation move. Art of Fighting 2 also adds its own element of innovation to the series with the throw break, a technique allowing fighters to recover from being thrown, while taking very little damage.

Visit every locale in South Town, to defeat each of the game's fighters, and get several opportunities to play one of three bonus games, which, in addition to inflating your score, will either increase your fighter's attributes or unlock more powerful techniques. The game ends when you encounter and defeat Mr. Big.Product Identifiers
