Based on the 1983 film, WarGames takes the Missile Command concept, slows it down, spreads it out over seven separate screens and makes it more complicated. Players use submarines, interceptor jets, ABMs and satellites to defend the U.S., which is displayed on a computer mapping system. Weapons are unavailable in certain sectors, and some enemies are impervious to certain weapons, giving the game strategic challenges. Voice effects from the film ("Would you like to play a game?") are regrettably absent, but the interface is top-notch. A two-player mode allows one player to utilize the Roller Controller for guiding and firing weapons, while the second player inputs keypad commands.Product Identifiers
