Am 14. August erscheint mit "Smile" das lang erwartete Album vom US-Popstar Katy Perry. Den gleichnamigen Titelsong hat sie nun bereits veröffentlicht. Katy schrieb die Single während es ihr sehr schlecht ging und sie ihr "Smile" verloren hatte. Deshalb thematisiert sie darin Dankbarkeit,Hoffnung und dass vorherige Rückschläge sich langfristig oft als Glück im Unglück herausstellen können. Sie war in ihrer ganzen Karriere für insgesamt 13 Grammys nominiert und erhielt für ihre Singles bereits 6x Gold sowie 4x dreifach Gold. Mit "California Gurls" (2010) und "Firework" (2010) erreichte sie sogar Platin in Deutschland. Ihr Album "Prism" (2013) erzielte in Deutschland Gold,"One of the Boys" (2008) erreichte dreifach Gold und ihr Album "Teenage Dream" (2010) sogar Platin. Außerdem ist sie die erste Künstlerin mit fünf No. 1 Singles von einem einzelnen Album ("Teenage Dream").
