This Italian drama follows a mentally unstable woman named Angela (Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi) whose self-destuctive nature makes her unable to form bonds with others--and her woes are compounded by a brittle relationship with her mother (played by Daria Nicolodi). In addition, Angela harbors an unhealthy obsession, from afar, with her neighbor, a divorced man named Marco (Fabrizio Bentivoglio). After meeting him by chance, she soon convinces herself that they are meant to be together, and the film climaxes in a torrid finale. In LA PAROLA AMORE ESISTE, director Mimmo Calopresti offers a sad but compelling view of a lonely life.
