The surface had also been lightly oiled to inhibit rust. That and the careful way it was packed say a lot about the seller. I would certainly buy from this seller again. I would also add that in my opinion, the Singer oiler design was simple cheap, stable on the work bench and fail proof in it's day and has not been bettered since.
