I don't know if something happened to it in shipment even though it seemed to be well packed in box. Good communication from seller, he sent a partial refund. I looked into trying to get someone to repair it but would not be cost effective since most similar typewriters would be cheaper to buy then to repair this one. I am sorry it was damaged drugging shipping and thank you for mentioning my packing. I always pack items securely. Unfortunately, I cannot control USPS.
