FYI the blue background is a bit less navy (dark) than it looks, but it's still gorgeous. The rug arrived very well packaged, and when I opened it and unrolled it, I could feel that the whole thing was slightly damp and smelled musty. Once it was dried and cleaned, the smell was mostly gone.
