I am no Shamisen expert, but the one i got looks nice and plays notes clearly. Strings seem to be nylon, wood body is good and hand's don't stick to it, so you can freely slide them as you play. It is a good option if you want to try the instrument and don't want to spend too much money. And if you end up not playing it you can always hang it on the wall as decoration. Great!
