I contacted the seller and after a few messages between us he agreed to a complete refund of my costs to include the shipping I had paid. In addition, he told me I did not even have to return the item and that I could give it to a family member!! His generosity will actually result in the sweater going to a charity drive for the homeless. All in all the situation turned out well for everyone!!
