Synopsis
"What I fear most, I think, is the death of the imagination. . . . If I sit still and don't do anything, the world goes on beating like a slack drum, without meaning. We must be moving, working, making dreams to run toward; The poverty of life without dreams is too horrible to imagine." -- Sylvia Plath, "Cambridge Notes" (From Notebooks, February 1956) Renowned for her poetry, Sylvia Plath was also a brilliant writer of prose. This collection of short stories, essays, and diary excerpts highlights her fierce concentration on craft, the vitality of her intelligence, and the yearnings of her imagination. Featuring an introduction by Plath's husband, the late British poet Ted Hughes, these writings also reflect themes and images she would fully realize in her poetry. - 6***6 (74)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Mese scorsoAcquisto verificatoThis delivery was earliest date! Condition, value, quality - all as described. (My mistake was not requiring the publishing date to be 1958. This was 1977.) This IS a Viking Portable Library copy of Dante's Divine Comedy in English, translated by Laurence Binyon, but it is with a cover DIFFERENT from what was shown. The tracking number was listed as from "UPS", but should have been listed as from "USPS." Contact with this seller alleviated tracking issues. I recommend this seller! Thank you!
- p***a (187)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Mese scorsoAcquisto verificatoI purchased two books from the same seller; both were accurately advertised in product write ups. Seller responded promptly and securely packaged both books for swift arrival. I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend this seller.
- n***n (746)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Mese scorsoAcquisto verificatoAs usual with this seller: Accurate description, 11 days transatlantic delivery, cracked jewel case due to flimsy (paper-thin plastic) packaging. Overall, worth dealing with for good value (free shipping).
