Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2019 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Linguistik, Note: 2,0, Universitat Bremen (Germanistik), Veranstaltung: Wortkunst, Schriftflachen, Sound Clouds - Theorie und Praxis der linguistischen AEsthetik, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Texte, Worte oder einzelne Buchstaben begegnen uns in der heutigen Zeit in unterschiedlichen Auspragungen taglich. Sprache und Schrift ist omniprasent. Die gilt auch fur die moderne Kunst. Es ist das zwanzigste Jahrhundert, das den interaktiven Prozess zwischen Literatur und bildender Kunst massgeblich gepragt und vorangetrieben hat. In den Kunstbewegungen im Bereich des Kubismus, des Futurismus und des so genannten Dadaismus findet die Literatur und insbesondere die Sprache zunehmend einen Platz in der bildhaften Gestaltung. Gleichzeitig eignet sich die Kunst Elemente des Sprachlichen an. Mit dem Satz Typografie kann unter Umstanden Kunst sein macht der Grafiker und Kunstler Kurt Schwitters bereits 1930 deutlich, dass der Sprache ein wichtiger Stellenwert in der Kunst zugesprochen werden kann und sollte, denn in diesem Jahrzehnt wurde ihr eine gesteigerte Aufmerksamkeit zuteil. In der Moderne, insbesondere in der Avantgarde-Bewegungen und der Konzeptkunst, ruckten Kunstler und Kunstlerinnen wie Robert Indiana und Joseph Kosuth, beeinflusst von der Linguistik und der Semiotik, neben Zahlen und Ziffern immer haufiger Buchstaben als gestalterische Elemente in den Fokus ihrer Arbeit. Die Sprache konnte und kann als kunstlerisches Medium somit raumliche Grenzen in ihrer materiellen Form und ihre Moeglichkeiten, die sich aus der neuen Symbiose ergeben, uberschreiten. Aufgrund dieses sehr interessanten Aspekts soll in der vorliegenden Arbeit die Sprache in der Konzeptkunst anhand verschiedener Werke des Kunstlers Lawrence Weiner untersucht werden. Im Zentrum steht dabei die Frage, welche Funktion oder Funktionen die Sprache in der Kunst erfullt und in welchen Formen sie uberhaupt auftritt.
